Wild Roses

Shooting this music video was an experience. The artist, Jaymai, had some big ideas about the visual imagery she wanted and lighting was one of the key ingredients. Which meant a very early and cold start for me and beautiful dancer Angelica. On top of that we really needed to capture something underwater. So there I was, at 5am with two hot water bottles strapped to my waist...getting ready to jump into the surf (fully clothed for warmth of course). While my assistant's one job was to "keep me alive" meant she stood on the sand, took pictures and laughed. Well we all did survive, a little bruised (I hit some rocks at one stage) and shivering...but I guess thats how it goes when you believe in handmade film! Check out the results...
