SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

Introducing a brand new colour—filled look for Diary of a Freelancer’s cover girl ‘Dorothy’ — presale now open for Spring.

Last month my printer Troy called me with some not so good news, the cost of the beloved recycled paper that Diary of a Freelancer is printed on had more than doubled. It was something to do with supply issues and inflation and just generally being 2022. Changing the paper was not an option - this paper is special. Not only is it 100% recycled and uncoated, but it has a subtle fleck that leaves every page of every copy, ever so slightly unique. I love this paper. I am in a committed relationship with this paper. And truly it makes Diary of a Freelancer the book you know and love. Troy gets this too (you might say we are on the same page…nope) and so he went to work finding a solution for us to keep Diary of a Freelancer in print.

I’m not sure how he did it but he came up with a golden path that had two catches - a tiny price increase of $3 / copy and a larger print run (which means a larger presale goal). These ‘catches’ are definitely not out of reach, however in small business little things can make all the difference.

So I went to work to inspire the imagination of readers and future readers and arrived at a something colourful!

‘Dorothy’ is a figure of taking yourself less seriously. She is a living-your-dreams campaign. Reimagining her in colour feels completely perfect and entirely meant to be. And the Wizard of Oz reference is the happiest coincidence of my entire career.

Happy to report that every other aspect of the book including the paper is completely the same!

PRESALE GIFTS include free shipping Aus wide + ‘Dorothy’ stickers!
