ONE MINUTE FILM HIATUS
After 6 incredible years we are excited and nervous to be giving One Minute Film (namely our beautifully hardworking team) it’s first hiatus.
This deep exhale is well earned. One Minute Film has taken us around the world, expanding our creative limits and introducing us to the most breathtaking visionaries. We have worked hard to serve small businesses by making the daunting film making process as easy and FUN as possible. This work continues to bring unexpected colours into our world. It is a gift and we are feeling very grateful.
One Minute Film in it’s essence is all about ‘go’. We pack up our creative field kit and travel to interesting spaces, meet people and capture them in action doing what they were made to do. And while this definitely isn’t the end of that, our new studio space has us in a season of grounding. Centring ourselves around a community. Hosting the creative process in a new melody of tangible ways, right here in this space.
It’s important to over emphasis that this is NOT the end of One Minute Film. We have big vision for the future of One Minute Film. There are goals we haven’t yet reached. To get there we need to take a breath to reset and listen to the rhythms of growth.
In an upside down sort of way, this is what growth looks like for us in this moment.
As The Honest Jones grows we find it helpful to see our creative work through the kind lens of circular time. Taking our cues from nature, growth is not always bigger, bigger, bigger. The growth process often involves one part humbling making way for the new growth to bloom. Circular time means as we leave a place, we know we will return in time having more insight, knowledge, skills and inspiration to do the work again. It is a concept I first learned from Austin Kleon here, and one that feels both elegant and kind.
The Honest Jones has always, and will always be a space for whatever we are doing creatively. Making it a messy, frightening, big adventure.
SO what will we be doing with our time you ask?
Well after the explosive success of the Anniversary Collection exhibit. Amanda will be carving out an art space in the studio and our online art shop. She will be taking some commissions - so get in touch if that sparks your imagination.
We are making space for more creative gatherings, like exhibitions and workshops. Expanding the dynamic capabilities of our studio space for all kinds of tangible creative flow, photoshoots, events, exhibitions, catering...our incredible studio kitchen is nearly finished!
Our team will be taking on a limited selection of brands to capture creative stories within the studio. Premade films are still available and Honest wedding films will continue as usual.
